Our Story

The Grove Grinder first opened in 1972. It quickly became a local favorite with loyal fans, serving up the kind of east coast style sandwiches you couldn't get anywhere else. After the original owner passed away the family decided to sell the place as is. Long time customers, Sharon "Grandma" Jones and her late husband Robert, bought the place, came out of retirement and opened on April 1, 2000. Over the years that followed, they added sides, sodas, award-winning chili, some new sandwiches, and the ability to get mayonnaise and mustard but they kept the original menu items and those loyal customers kept coming back and started bringing their friends and family. 

Over the years all the grand kids have taken a turn working the front counter and making sandwiches. If you come in today, you're likely to see Grandma, still working everyday, or her son Skeeter, in the back slinging sandwiches.
